Common questions

Where is my data? On your device. There is no account and no Sabi Daily server. If you turn on weekly backups, a password-protected copy also goes to your own iCloud Drive or cloud folder. See the privacy policy.

How do I back up? In Settings, under Backups, set a backup password and turn on Weekly backup. On iPhone the backups go to iCloud Drive, in a Sabi Daily folder. On Android you choose the folder, such as one in Google Drive or Dropbox. The newest four are kept. You can also use Export backup to save a copy anywhere, any time.

What if I forget my backup password? It can't be recovered or reset, by you or by us, which is what keeps your backups private. Your journal on your phone is unaffected: set a new password in Settings and the next backup uses it. Backups made with the old password still need the old password.

I got a new phone. How do I move my journal? Install Sabi Daily on the new phone, open Settings, then Restore from backup, and pick your latest backup from iCloud Drive or your cloud folder. Enter your backup password when asked. This works between iPhone and Android in either direction.

Why don't I see anything in On This Day? It shows entries from this date in earlier years. Keep writing and it fills in over time.
